Private Inks Deals for IPTV, VOD in Germany

BARCELONA, Spain — Private Media Group and Erotic Media have signed a multiyear agreement with Triple-Play for IPTV and video-on-demand distribution in Germany.

Under the terms of the deal, Triple-Play will have access to several hundred titles from both companies’ film libraries.

Private Media Group CEO Berth Milton Jr. said the deal, which includes new releases as well as classic titles, represents the first extensive VOD offering for TV to German subscribers.

“This deal is indicative of the increasing demand we are experiencing for our content from new distribution platforms,” he said. “Just as adult content has been the leading revenue driver for many new media platforms in the past, it is again proving to take this position in the TV VOD market. The high-margin VOD market is, without question, a significant source of revenue for us.”

The Triple-Play service allows German customers to purchase an all-inclusive bundle of high-speed Internet access, low-cost DSL telephony and access to free and pay TV channels. Triple-Play is operated by RCN, a German Internet service provider.
